About the Pastor

Pastor Frances Cho

Picture
Frances Cho came to Korean United Methodist Church of Santa Clara Valley in May 2006.  She was born and raised in Seoul Korea, and immigrated to San Jose with her parents in 1981.  She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High school in San Jose, and received a B.A. in Nursing at San Jose State University.  She earned her Master of Divinity Degree from the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley in 2003.

While Frances was working as a registered nurse at Valley Medical Center, God has called her to ministry to reach out to the young and new generations.   She responded to God’s calling and has been ministering to children and youth for last 11 years. She is now ministering to the English congregation (ACTS Ministry) as well as overseeing the Education department of the Korean United Methodist Church of Santa Clara Valley.  Her passion is to see a whole generation rise up, and see a movement in the demonstration of the power of the Holy Spirit which flows from love, intimacy and identity through both Word and Spirit.

Frances is passionate about worship, discipleship and service to the poor and marginalized. She loves the three simple rules of Wesleyan living: 1) Do no harm, 2) Do good, and 3) Stay in love with God.  She is relational and loves to connect with young or old.  She employs these gifts in her ministry with children, young people, and wise ones in her ministry.

She would love to connect over a cup of coffee... So, if you are a coffee lover, give her a call or email her.

She is happily married to her husband, Michael and has two children, Eddie & Tony.
