Pastor Jacob was born in Korea and moved with his parents to Mexico at the age of 6. Growing up as the child of a missionary he had many opportunities to get involved in the mission field and experience a variety of ministries. After graduating from high school in Mexico, he went back to Korea where he received a B.A. in theology. In 2008 he moved to the United States and earned a Master of Divinity degree from the Pacific School of Religion in 2011. From 2008 to 2013 he served Contra Costa United Methodist Church as the EM director. He has been serving ACTS since July of 2013. He is very passionate about the church and enjoys exploring creative ways to do new ministries. In his free time, he enjoys exploring new ‘whole in the wall’ eateries, reading and playing computer games. You can approach him casually about any of those things, but he will enjoy a conversation with you about anything. He is currently single, which does not mean you have permission to set him up, but he welcomes your efforts. His heart is really in seeing the church grow and become a place of hope and healing for all those who seek it.
